Reporting To - Head of Sales

The New Business Sales Manager will have an absolute focus on prospecting, identifying and winning new business. Utilising the full range of CCL Logistics’ products and service offering, with a creative eye to identify other areas of customer requirements for our proactive flexible technology experts to work on. The role will need a creative mind with `out of the box’ thinking and a happy, positive, professional approach that reflects the CCL culture, ethos and values. The role will be part of the wider Sales Team but will involve a large degree of autonomy working on your own as you research and build your network. The role is field based and will involve regular travel to your appointments.

Key Responsibilities

  • A self-starter with a hunter gatherer instinct, the role involves growing our impressive portfolio of customers
  • Responsible for initial prospect sourcing, identifying needs and presenting solutions to secure the winning and successful on-boarding of new customers
  • Grow new customer base in line with business and individual targets
  • Achieve profit margins in line with business and individual targets
  • A keen investigator, using effective questioning techniques to identify potential opportunities where CCL can add value across CCL Logistics & Technology services
  • Understand how to analyse new customers warehouse & operating environments and establish where CCL can support and drive customer efficiency benefits
  • Updating all reporting tools such as CRM, with relevant information, collate market intel and report back on competitor activity
  • Time Management disciplines to maximise appointment efficiency
  • Work across all CCL branches throughout the UK as required

Skills and experience

  • A successful track record in new business sales, with a hunger and passion to succeed
  • Experienced in working to targets and objectives, both individual and business
  • Experience in Technology or 3PL / 4PL Logistics or Ecommerce preferred.
  • Strong communication & presentational skills
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Comfortable in selling multiple products and solutions to customers
  • Deliver and represent the CCL business using the 6 Values of our business.
  • Experienced in managing sales reporting platforms such as CRM
  • Experienced in presenting to customers teams at all levels of business
  • An eye for spotting an opportunity and seizing the moment
  • An understanding of carrier management platforms / multi carrier platforms, supply-chain technology would be useful
  • Comfortable working alone as well as being part of a team
